This new version of Facebook brings a complete and refreshed redesign of the UI as seen in the picture below. The smooth panorama look makes the app more Metro friendly and more importantly, it adds much more functionality like the ability to see and add "likes" to posts. There's also a refined tool bar at the bottom with quick access to Check in, Add (post) or quickly add/take a new photo. In addition, you now have access to pages, groups, feed filters, privacy information and banner images. Speed of the app seems on par with before and we're hoping for more reliable notifications. Timeline is still not supported in this version and is believed to be added in the next version update.

There are rumours that the eagerly awaited Galaxy S3 won't be making an appearance at the Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona towards the end of this month. However, there is a chance that the latest and greatest Galaxy device will hit the shelves before the end of first half of 2012. South Korea has even published a report to back this up. ET News believes that the first quad-core powered behemoth from Samsung will be released in May. As you might expect from Samsung, there are multiple variations of the Galaxy device in the pipeline, including a 3D version and one with a touch pen. ET also divulged some of the other specifications of the Galaxy S3. The S3 will feature an 8 megapixel rear and a 2 megapixel front camera, SAMOLED Plus display, 2GB RAM, and Ice Cream Sandwich. However, the S3 isn't simply about mighty specs. Measuring in at 7mm, the next-gen flagship from is also rumored to have killer looks. Samsung has witnessed spectacular success in the smartphone segment with the Galaxy S and S2. However, it will face stiffer challenge this year. The iPhone 5 is expected to be a significant overhaul that should hit the market around about the same time as the S3. 2012 should be an extremely interesting year for smartphone enthusiasts. Yum Yum!!

HTC's Primo is the latest smartphone to take a turn through the rumour mill and some juicy specs is leaked ahead straight from an anonymous tipster. If you like your phones compact, you'll like the sound of the HTC Primo's 9mm waistline and 3.7" Super AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass protection – although the screen's resolution has yet to be confirmed. The Primo will also come with Ice Cream Sandwich straight out of the box with HTC Sense 4.0 slathered on top but under the Primo's hood there's what could be a slightly disappointing 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and 512MB of RAM. The HTC Primo's rear camera won't be far behind the specs of the 8MP snapper featured on the Edge and Ville – it will shoot 5MP stills and 720p video and its f/ 2.0 aperture will let in more light than other smartphone cams – helping you capture that group shot outside the kebab shop. Plus its dual shutter mode means you'll be able to take snaps whilst filming your HD video. The Primo will come packing Beats Audio tech for bass lovers.

Say hello to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ion

Another device to get on the AT&T LTE bandwagon is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ion. This device is Sony Ericsson’s first LTE enabled device and has no less than one massively impressive 12-megapixel camera. The back facing camera is also able to film 1080p video, while the front-facing camera is capable of 720p video. This device is both sleek and lovely. This device is working with a 720p display, has a set of functions called Fast Capture which allows you to go from asleep to taking a photo in under 1.5 seconds. For video output there’s a microHDMI port, this right next to the microUSB port – the two of them looking rather similar to the setup Motorola has on their latest suite of dual-core devices. There’s also a Smart Dock which you’ll be able to pick up that also has the same functionality Motorola’s recent docks do, this time with no additional power port – just USB, USB, microHDMI, and microUSB.
