Worth a try. I downloaded 0.8 a few days back and couldn't stand it at all.
This newer beta rocks, need to get used to it though.
Posting for it. Loads sites at least 2 times faster, the old versions are nightmares.
Also, the animations looks much smoother now, I would lie to disable them though.

Are you using this browser over current versions of Opera Mobile?

I have tried Netfront, Opera Mobile 8.65 and most of the Opera Mobile 9.5 build at xda-devs. Tried both OM9.5 betas, Skyfire and Opera Mini too...
Sure, this browser is still not as developed as some other browsers out there, but I think we should at least be happy that we are getting more choices.
Once again, me is posting from Iris browser. The controls are QUIRKY though.

Actually, I cannot find any mention that Torch Mobile developed the Safari browser. In fact, I believe Apple developed the Safari browser. The only thing in common is that both browsers use the WebKit engine.

Probably a misquote bah, but make no difference, this browser is a good one. Not that intuitive though in terms of controls and options.
But still, it is WAY better than previous versions, which is surprising.
They incoporated some slick animations such as slides and warping. Those were extremely choppy in the last version but is much better now
Website rendering is good but there is no "wordwrap" option as in other browsers.
Inputting in text-fields is fustrating, have to rely on d-pad to move cursor
