Once WM phone connected to PC via activesync or bluetooth, it is easy to browse WM phone from the Win XP File Explorer.

How about the other way round? Browse Xin XP files from WM phone?
I tried Resco Explorer but without success.

What's domain for a standalone home pc?
Is the remote path refers to pc name\user account or pc name\hard disk name?

The feature you're trying to use is a simple network access of the shared folder or drive on the PC. Unless you've configured the folder/drive on your pc to be shared, you cannot use this feature. You'll therefore need to know the username & password of the local account that has been configured to acces the shared drive/folder. This can be done via WiFi or LAN as well.
For your security, do not share the whole drive.
So, a remote path would look like \\Hostname of PC (or IP address)\Shared resource name.
Once connection is established, then you'll be prompted for credentials.

Yup. Just share a folder on your PC, connect your WM to the same network and connect to the computer using the username and password of the computer that you used to log into the computer.

I can use resco explorer 2008 to explore my XP computer. Not sure about Vista.
