Check SingTel/M1 Mobile Broadband data usage to avoid exceeding the data allowance and excessive fees.

Data usage is pulled from SingTel/M1 directly.

Personal data used by these widgets is only used when pulling information from SingTel/M1 website, it will not be sent to any 3rd party websites or shared by other applications installed on the same phone.

I think M1 blocks this data usage widget since last Saturday, it is not able to retrieve data from M1 web site. I spent whole day to investigate, tcpdump shows M1 returns different result when calling from WinMo Widget, Symbian Widget or Web Browser.

WinMo widget engine addes its uniqueue identifier into request headers, which is easily captured by server side.

Symbian version is working fine as Symbian widget engine presents itself just as normal mobile browser.

I may pull M1 Data Usage app from Marketplac.

I can customize and override all the headers except Referer, it is fixed by widget engine... app does not have such issue?

currently for the CNA app i am "cloaking" the client as a browser that is accessing the site.





you can try looking into System.Web.WebClient namespace or the httpwebrequest/httpwebresponse namespace.

i am currently using webclient as its quite easy to use... for referer:

client.Headers.Add("Referer",theurl where u want to 'act' like the request is refering from)

I only manage to check my M1 data usage once. After that, it can't seem to get the latest usage from M1 website anymore. It shows the last record in Feb..

Not too sure how its done in the widget engine but as a dot net application for WM, you can specify your own values for referer, user agent etc...

You should be able to supply a useragent with XMLhttpRequest. i.e.

req.setRequestHeader('User-Agent','XMLHTTP/1.0');

or

req.setRequestHeader('Referer', 'www.google.com');
