At the MIX10 developers conference at Las Vegas, Microsoft has all but confirmed that the most basic cut and paste feature will be missing in the Windows Phone 7 Series. According to EngadgetMobile, "there is a data-detection service built into the text-handling API that will recognize phone numbers and addresses, but Microsoft says most users, including Office users, don't really need clipboard functionality". This eyebrow raising move is ironic considering that Window Mobile users has been enjoying this functionality since this OS is introduced. Most will definately question this move. Is the omission due to the fact that time is running out for Microsoft to launch Windows 7 Phone Series by the holiday season or they find this feature to be not consumer enough? What we can do now is to hope that Microsoft have a change of heart.
I read the post at Gizmodo by Jesus Diaz, real crude..... but true to every extend.
Well MS, you laugh at iphone when then launch without copy and paste, but now, you following the footsteps.....
Doesn't seem to have any originality already.. MS seems to be threading into the path where Apple have already dusted their feet and left.. very disappointing..

The more I look at how Microsoft is handling Windows Mobile, the more I am convinced that they have lost it completely. I used to believe in Windows Mobile. I've been a faithful user since the early iPAQ days (36xx series?). I don't like iPhone's way of doing things.
Now, Microsoft seems to be copying many things from iPhone without really thinking. First, their "non-jailbreak apps" policy. And then the "no copy and paste (initially)" news followed by a few other silly decisions. I think I'm done with Windows Mobile.
I love Windows Mobile's traditional way of handling copy & paste. It's still the best way for mobile devices, IMO.
