Apparently, Extended Themes created using Spb Extended Theme Generator don't seem to work well on WM5 devices. The only way to create Extended Themes for WM5 is to go all the way down to manually creating the CAB file using CABWiz and also manually add in registry values and finally rename the CAB to TSK. It requires you to understand how CAB files work and it is an extremely troublesome process just to create one Extended Theme. This also means that most Extended Themes you find on the web do not work on WM5 as well.

But it depends on what type of today plug-in you need. Actually, the recommendation list is already quite short. I've already tried to keep it as short as possible and limit them to the popular/useful/interesting ones.

Q. Can I remove the separator lines in the today screen (Pocket PC)?
A. The simple answer is that you can't. However, you can change it to a color such that it matches the background to achieve the same effect, e.g. setting the separator lines to black in a black background.
Q. Can I have a all-white theme in WM6/WM6 (Pocket PC)?
A. Unfortunately, it seems quite impossible to have a theme with white background and white bars (softkeys and taskbar). Through registry tweaking, it is possible to change the softkeys to white while setting the text on them to be non-white (e.g. black). For the taskbar, it is also possible to change it to white. BUT, there is no registry key to change the color of the text on them, i.e. you get white text on white background for the taskbar. Therefore, you can at most only make a theme with white background, white softkey and black taskbar for a matching theme.

ie. i set a jpg as wallpaper, but when on screen, it looks faded, ie. only maybe 40% of it is shown, as though there is a white SCREEN over it.
any registry tweaks for this?
THANKS!!
EDIT>>>> found the answer, it's in "Pictures & Videos" default app of the PPC.

1. Use a Reg Editor and navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\DeviceBeta.
2. Create a new value with the following:
Value name = Today
Value data = Any desired word e.g. your own name
3. After completed the reg tweak, exit your reg editor.
4. Power down for 20 secs then Power on and soft reset.
