You can enable a battery warning that will be displayed when you insert a card while on battery power.

Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\PCMCIA\
You can change the "NoBatteryCheck" value :


0 : enable the warning when inserting a card while on battery power
1 : disable the warning (default value on Pocket PC)

When I use keypad to type a message, there's this low beep sound that is kinda irritating.. Is there anyway to turn it off?

Also, is it possible to point the alert (sms/alarms/etc..) sound folder to one that is on the storage card?

This tips still work even on WM5.

If you want the scroll dial to move from page to page instead of hyperlink to hyperlink in PIE, just use the registry editor software and edit the following registry key to 0:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Navigation/4-Way Nav

I don't know if this is lame, but here it goes.

Registry tweak for changing default size of text for Pocket Internet Explorer.

1] Backup all your data

2] Backup all your data

3] Backup all your data

4] Open your favourite registry editor, in this case I will be using PHM Registry Editor

5] Navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Internet Explorer>Main

6] Tap on ZoomSetting

7] Set value

0- Smallest
1- Small
2- Medium
3- Larger
4- Largest

If PIE is running while doing this, do a soft reset. If not, just launch PIE.

This works well for WM 2002. Not sure about the others. Anyone care to try it out?
