i just had a 1 to 1 exchange for my x51. the reason is that i cannot pwr up my x51. need to do soft reset in order to boot up. don't know what the fault is, but lucky my new set no prob. the faulty one need to soft reset like every 2 to 3 times after i last pwr on.

why do you need to reset so often??
for my jornada, for the years I owned it, the number times I reset it is about 30 times, and that's usually because of a bad freeware or I need to do it to run a landscape display programme...
try using vbar to close the programme. this way, clicking the X closes the programme rather than send it to tbe background. i find it is much more stable this way.

Sometime it is more efficient, quicker and easier to do a soft reset. One of these time is after reaching your destination with Garmin Que and you need to shutdown and be ready for the next task a little later, say an hour later. With all the PSProxy, GPSGate (Mine is on a WM2002, so no choice got to use GPSGate), Bluetooth, etc.. you need to shut the PPC down in the correct reverse sequent to eable Mortrunner to power up the whole start sequent again. This is where the poke up the correct little hole save the day, well almost except for the Bluetooth.
Besides, it also clean up your RAM and releases any "Sleeping" block of ram and it does nothing to harm your PPC.

personally, IMHO, although MS has alot of experience with multi-tasking, keeping track of all those tasks in the background need resources and since the ppc does not have alot of those, I suspect it does become unstable after a while.
closing the programme restores the system stability as there is no dll left to corrupt the system. I used wisbar (the orginal one!) on my jornada and it works wonders.
but that version of wisbar cannot run on the ppc2004se on my 2750, so I changed to vbar. I did not use the later wisbar versions as I find they are too bloated for their own good. a simply close or switch programme will suffice if you are not a power user.
