Unknown to many of us, IBM has a free Java application that works well on our PPC and it is FREE! Some XDAs already has Java Midlet Manager built in but standlone PPCs do not have.
Step 1: Go here
http://www14.softwar...&id=DVDE-634P22
Step 2: Choose the link "Trial: IBM Workplace Client Technology, Micro Edition 5.7"
Step 3: Navigate through the 3 pages, by loging in / registering with IBM. On the third page, scroll down to "WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment MIDP 2.0 for Windows Mobile 2003" and download it.
This free IBM Java application alllows you to install and play jar and jad Java game/applications files right on your PPC.
See screenshot from my X50v

Just downloaded the latest version v6.10 and installed on my WM5 PDA phone (rw6828). It works fine and support MIDP 2.0 (ie.. Opera Mini advanced version).
The problem that I have right now is, the softkey does not work at all.
Does anybody know how to activate / enable softkey on this IBM J9 MIDP?
The build-in Java in rw6828, Esmertec does support WM5 softkey however it does not support Opera Mini advance mode runnign in MIDP 2.0.
