You can check the font used in your PIE.
For mine, it's "Western European". After mapping, I can view chinese website.

Do a soft reset and you are done.
N.B I don't know is it just me but after you do the soft reset sometimes, the registry changes will disappear. Try to modify  some settings (like ringtone) before you do a soft reset, maybe this would make the registry "stick".

To Jshun, don't know if your solution is the same as mine, but I remember you used other font, not sunglobe which is by far the best looking chinese fonts.

Hi kiatmobile, you will need a registry editor for Step (4) & (5)
Some free ones are phm registry editor and total commander. Google for it.

I used chunkyen's method to install the font to my Tmobile SDA. I put the font file in \windows\fonts. After I run FontOnStorage.exe file, I see an icon showing up on the top. But when I try to read a txt file or browse Chinese website, I still can't read Chinese. Any clue?

I also tried the fontpatch.zip from mingsect, but I couldn't run it on my SDA. Maybe it's for PPC only not smartphone.

Not sure if it has been answered, but how to you get windows mobile media player to display asian characters in the song tags? I've made the changes so IE can display asian characters, but that doesn't help media player.
