This program allows you to track changes on Your PocketPC. This is particularly useful when you install a program on your device and want to find out what changes are made to the registry and what files are added and where.



As example, having done two records of the condition of the system,
before and after the installation of some software,
You will be able to learn about changes fom system.

The SKTracker file takes up around 700KB storage space so I installed it to the SD card.


Starting up the program









Let's take a look at the Settings
Each item is configurable but no settings will be saved in the DEMO version.

Let's see how this Program Works

For illustration purposes, we will be doing the following

Step_1: Take a snapshot of the current system
Step_2: Install a new program ..in this example, we will install ScanR
Step_3: Take a new snapshot of the system
Step_4: Compare the "before" and "after" to see what changed in the device


Step_1: Take A Snapshot Of The Current System
- this step includes indexing the registry, databases, system files, and all folders and files







Ok will stop here temporarily, We call this Snapshot "Before ScanR" you can leave some notes to describe this snapshot for later reference. Once you click the OK soft button below, the program goes to work. It should take around 30-40 seconds maybe even faster on your device if you have a huge amount of free RAM and fast CPU.








Once the process is completed, you will see the screen below

Step_2: Install a new program

- we will now install the program ScanR
- you can close the SKTracker if you like







Step_3: Take a new snapshot of the system

Step_4: Compare the "before" and "after" to see what changed in the device

In order to compare the two snapshots to see what has changed in the registry, databases, folders etc., you need to firstly select the two snapshots.

To do this you tap and hold on each snapshot title and a menu will appear to you

At this point, just doubleclick on the Results to see the changes


You can see what's changed in the Databases




You can see what's changed in the registry




You can see what's deleted from the registry




You can see what new registry keys are added




You can see what new files & folders are added and their locations







You can see what files have been modified




That ends the preview. This program is not probably for everyone. Those who know the value of what this app can do I highly recommend purchasing it.

heya O2 mini, thanks for the update,
a much cheaper alternative when compared to WinCE cab manager (especially for non-program writers, or tsk designers).

does it have something like a restore point, so that the device goes back to the previous state, or something that just undos after a comparison...

I don't think so..all it does is track the changes made to the registry, files, dbs at any 2 snapshot points via some form of indexing. It's not like the system restore function in XP where you can undo the changes by going back to the previous snapshot.
