WM5torage is a nifty freeware written by Igor V. Bozhko that turns Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PCs and Smartphones into mass storage devices. This way, you can access your storage cards without removing them from your unit. Originally written for Windows Mobile based smartphones, it's tested to work on Pocket PCs like the HTC Universal too.

Windows Mobile 5 is required. Sorry, but I can't possibly make it work on WM 2003, as only WM5 allows USB protocol implementation separate from USB hardware driver - on WM 2003 Ill have to rewrite whole USB hardware drivers, and of course its not feasible.

don't install it to memory card. When activated, memory card will not be accessible in the smartphone, as all direct access to the flash card will be routed to USB.

After the installation was done I straightly tried and it was not successful so I did soft reset my device and activated it.
Plugged the USB cable to device and you'll have new drive on explorer
I can see my files inside my SD card just like having a thumbdrive.
This is the performance. Perfoming file copy from notebook to SD card.

so basically this would make our devices into a thumbdrive... pluck the usb cable into the laptop or desktop and we would see an additional drive there.
Am I right?

Thanks a lot!!! Time for me to put my thumbdrive aside and keep a retractable cable instead...
As for computers that do not have activesync, we would see an additional drive. But how about those that have activesync?
