i managed to turn the bars to white and the text to 'non-white' but now my icons on the taskbar are white (the battery bar, phone signal bar). how do i change it?

one more thing is that when i make a change, it does not change the skin i am currently using but instead it will only take change once i change to a different skin.

Unfortunately, the color of the icons can't be changed. The color of icons are fixed since they are derived from resource files or image files. That's why it's never recommended to use white bars. Anyway, black bars look good with today backgrouns which are white-based.

Vicott, I downloaded the latest version from your website and found that RGB colours are not reflected even though selected, goes back to Greyscale. This is the first time I installed your software, so shouldn't be due to old versions. I also noticed that during your initial versions, this problem occurred before and you had corrected it. Not sure what is wrong for me?

I'm using WM5. Thanks.

Do you have a registry editor? You can check the following:
1) Set a RGB color in TdyScheme Changer and exit the program.
2) Launch your registry editor and go to "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Color".
3) Check the data for "BaseHue".
4) It should be 0 to 40 for grayscale and 256 to 511 for non-greyscale (referred to as RGB color).

I had checked the value, it seems that the data for Basehue are not able to be written into the registry after I click ok after choosing the colour I want.

Strangely, if I use VJ's basehue utility, whatever changes can work for me.

Sigh, sounds like a registry saving issue for WM5 (yet again). I'll try to solve it when I have the time.

I would like to share this information. You can have the full range for setting grayscale (0 to 255) ! I noticed this with my program ThemeGenCE.

Try it with ThemeGenCE and with a TSK which does not have WM5 specific keys (because it will supersede BaseHue if some are declared).

1) Connect PDA with ActiveSync.

2) Launch ThemeGenCE.

3) Load PDA current Theme with the button in Tab ActiveSync.

4) Go to WM5 tab.

5) Push "BaseHue and DPI" button.

6) Check "Interact with PDA" checkbox.

7) Click in the grayscale scale. Let the PDA update ! Wait a while. You see you can have the fullrange in the grayscale.

8) If you unchek the "Restore the PDA" checkbox, the grayscale value will stay as you put it. (Till a reset !).

Hope you enjoy this trick and can adapt it with your program !
