Yaikss.... my fring crashed in the new D1 ROM.... whenever the unit is in stand-by mode with fring running at background, the system crashed. Need to reboot. This does not happen in previous C1 ROM.

Does anyone know how to change on the samsung i780 today plugin the mobile navigator to launch a different program.

does the D1 ROm still have network issues? :sowwy: :sowwy:
most of my problems arises when either receiving/sending sms, incoming calls, and activesync-ing... :tongue: :tongue:

Additional Tips:
-press and hold 'OK' button - Task Manager
-Press and hold 'Space Bar' - Silent mode
-Press and hold Satellite button - 'Data Call Manager'
-Using RealVGA - uncheck "Disable Phone Skin"
-Using SPB Pocket Plus - uncheck "SMART Scrolling"
-Camera Mode - up down button can toggle cameras

I am a newcomer to pocket PCs, just got my Samsung i780 a couple of weeks back. I found this forum while Googling for useful information on the phone. I am amazed to find such a large and active community. :wink:

Anyway, I have a very stupid question which I am sure will make it to some top 10 stupid questions list if there were any:

What is Wi-Fi? How can I use it and is it chargeable?

I will be very grateful if someone can shed some light on this for me or point me to some useful information. Thanks! :grin:

First of all I would like to welcome you to this wonderful community here with lots of fellow users to share experiences and knowledge.
And rest assuired that no question is stupid... newbies learning curve is usually steep when you first use ppc phones...
To answer your question, wifi is wireless connection akin to connecting via a home internet router, or free public access like Wireless@Sg (if you are from Singapore) ... Its free ... but you may have to pay for internet connection at home...

Network issues? You mean disconnected my GSM network? Yes the problem still insists IF your battery at 10% capacity. The WiFi is much much stable compared to C1 or A1.

My alternative for fring.com will be Shape Services IM+. Anyone tried installing with success?

hmm.. this is really bad.. just upgraded to D1 too.. I was able to use msn with wi-fi with A1 after installing realvga.. now with D1 it just don't work anymore.. So anyone has got another alternatives ?
