Thanks for the tip. I tried turning off the security on the router, still can't connect. I am using WPA-PSK. Somebody in this thread mention he also can't connect with his Belkin Router. Hmm...
It take about 2-3mins. Quite fast actually.
I tried this at home but I opened my window and extend my hand out to reach the sky. I even position 45 degress so that the phone is is facing the sky to get the signal!
mine also quite fast, maybe less than 2 min.
I had a chance to test out the GPS tonite and i am impressed.
I also owned a Garmin standalone GPS, and this i900 GPS is really on par, if not better than Garmin one in terms of performance.
just now, I purposely test the re-calibration of route to see how fast it can re-route.
when i am near my house, i purposely miss my turn.
I was amazed at the speed! :w00t:
almost instant. and best part, it does not even say it is re-calibrating.
it just sound a "ting" and it routes you to the new one.
my garmin still says "re-calculating" and sometimes takes a while.
as tiwee mentioned, a lot of information is presented on the screen,
like your speed, real time time countdown to your destination, distance countdown to your next turn, and the voice navigation also tells you to keep left/right after your turn!
and also the search function is also very powerful and fast.
you can search address by anything, block number, road name, and even postal code.
Agis GPS really impressed me!
next test will be inside CTE tunnel. :sneaky:
need to see how fast it can pick up the GPS signal again after going through tunnel.
so when you turn off security, i.e. an unsecured network, you still can't connect to your router?
what's your router? Belkin?
Yes, when I turned off security, I still can't connect to my router. It's Belkin Pre-N Router. Just note that I never have problem connecting until the i900.
seems someone got it working by changing the WIFI channel on the router to the
same one used by WM6.1 maybe you guys can give that a try. else i believe it's
a problem with the firmware of the phone.
mine also quite fast, maybe less than 2 min.

guys, I encountered something very scary regarding batt life.
just now, my batt life was like 3 bar,
then i go and use the camera.
when i switch to camera mode, i notice that batt life shows 2 bar,
switch back to Today screen and it shows 3 bar, strange.
ok, nevermind, then I go and play around with the different features, like smile detection, panorama shoot, etc ...
first i tried the video, for about 1 to 2 min, took a few short clips,
then i took about 5-6 pictures before i tried the panorama which consists of 8 shots continuously.
i think i tried the panorama shots about 3 times, so total 24 shots.
then the phone went blank!
cannot start up.
when i plug in to charger then can boot up.
that means batt totally flat already.
so 2 things can go wrong here :
1. batt really drains very fast when using the camera. from 3 bar to flat?? :w00t:
2. batt indication is not accurate. although it shows 3 bars but actually it is going flat soon.
can someone tries this? really hope i am not the odd one out. :sowwy:
